Introduction / Identity

Hello! My name is Tarrin Pippin. I just completed my teaching residency in Secondary English Education back in December of 2025. Shortly after my residency was completed, I graduated from University of Wyoming with my graduate certificate in Secondary Education focusing in English. Right now, I am in the process of licensing. I have received my teaching license for the state of Wyoming and am now waiting on my teaching license for the state of Utah. As I wait for that process to complete and to (hopefully) get a permanent teaching position in August, I am busy substitute teaching while also catching babies as a licensed midwife.

I am not busy enough, so of course I have also enrolled into a Master of Arts program in Art Education with Ohio State University. I have always loved the arts and believe that they are a vital part of education. Not only that, but I believe that the subject of English and the Arts tend to go hand in hand. Poetry, plays, performing and public speaking, creativity with literature, and using art in the English classroom to encourage integration of ideas and activities. These two disciplines can definitely go hand in hand and having a good educational and instructional understanding of both will greatly help our students.

I have had experience with drawing, painting, pottery, embroidery, cross-stitch, crochet, knitting, and more. While making art and being around art is amazing, I am most looking forward to learning the instructional side of art education. Learning how to engage students and create an equitable, safe, and exciting learning environment that students really want to be in, is absolutely one of my goals as an educator.
